You should receive your Teacher BOOK IT! Program Kit by mid-July. You'll want to take time to look through it. It will include a teacher's guide and program materials.
The BOOK IT! Program starts August this year and ends January of the following year, and is available to grade 1 students only in private schools.
Begin by setting monthly reading goals for each student in your class. Goals can be set by minutes, pages, or books read.
Send the parents letter with flyers, parent verification slips and recognition card to explain how BOOK IT! Program works for them and their child.
As soon as the reading goal is met, present the student with a Pizza Award Certificate.
On the first visit, students are recognized with a BOOK IT! Program sticker placed on their recognition card with the manager's signature and remarks.
On subsequent visits, students are given the same deal for meeting their reading goals.
There is no purchase requirement and the pizza can be taken to go. Substitutions are available and vary by location.
If students meet the reading goals all six months of the program, Pizza Hut will award them with an All-Star Reader Certificate and a Medallion.
